Synergis joins sponsors in supporting Georgia ’s CIOs

On October 25, 2006, Synergis joined with other Georgia companies to recognize the state’s top Chief Information Officer (CIO) as well as other CIOs who have demonstrated excellence in Information Technology leadership.

ATLANTA , GA. October 25, 2006 – On October 25, 2006, Synergis, as a sponsor for the 2006 CIO of the Year Awards, joined the Georgia CIO Leadership Association for their annual breakfast program to recognize the Georgia CIO of the Year. Synergis was excited to take part in this event that shows support for the CIOs that have done so much for the IT industry. Because Synergis is an IT recruiting company, they often work with the top CIOs of Georgia corporations. Synergis was excited to be a sponsor for this event that recognizes CIOs who are so deserving of this honor and award.

About the Georgia CIO Leadership Association
The Georgia CIO Leadership Association (GCLA) was founded in 2003 by five IT companies: Deloitte Consulting, LLP; Intellinet; Internet Security Systems; Kilpatrick Stockton; and Microsoft, with their mission being to build a strong professional community among IT leaders. The GCLA is a non-profit organization whose membership consists exclusively of CIOs or those in equivalent positions. To be granted membership, CIOs must be employed with a Georgia company that earns revenue of $100 million or more.

The purpose of the GCLA is for Georgia ’s CIOs to come together to share ideas. According to the Georgia CIO fact sheet, their vision states “the GCLA will serve as the primary advocate and unified voice for the Georgia CIO community.” By creating a forum for discussion and debate, the GCLA believes that the information technology industry will continue to grow and develop.

About the CIO Awards
The Georgia CIO of the Year Awards event was founded in 1998 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated excellence in managing the enterprise-wide information systems of their company or organization. According to the CIO Leadership Association, the GCLA created the awards as a way to give CIOs the recognition that they were not receiving, but deserve to get.
