Everyone knows that Google and Facebook are cool, flexible, innovative places to work. They’ve built a reputation on being a good employer through pool tables in the breakroom, free food and drinks and being able to bring your dog to work. Which is great! But not completely realistic for all of us out there.
Even though your company might not ever have the Google corporate culture, it’s still important for your employees to enjoy coming to work every day and feel appreciated from all their efforts. Doing something that allows them to take a break from the regular day-to-day activities will excite and motivate them. While employers might have concerns that an activity or time out of the office will take away from productivity, have no fear. Monster reports that:
“If people are having fun, they’re going to work harder, stay longer, maintain their composure in a crisis and take better care of the organization.”
Great news, right? So now, what activities do you motivate your team with?
Anything from having your employees go outside to have a paper airplane contest to taking them to play paintball (see video above) will help build your team and motivate your employees. And happy, motivated employees help increase your bottom line!
