Last week, we gave you the first five things you should look for in a staffing agency (view them here). But what other things are important when looking for a quality staffing agency to work with?
Listed below are the top five attributes to look for:
5.) What is their story?: You should consider how long a company has been in business – the longer the better (or more credible). Ask about how many Account Executives and Recruiters they have on staff and their tenure. If employees have been at the company for a long time, that speaks volumns. Lastly, what is their mission statement or their core values?
4.) What are their rates?: This can vary, but a little research can give you an idea of a fair rate for the type of search you are looking for. These fees also vary from contract, permenant or contract to permanent jobs and also based on the length of the contract.
3.) Their success rate: It’s important to know their overall success rate, but also know their success rate varied by region. if you have multiple locations with IT needs, it’s important to know their successes in your region, country, continent, etc.
2.) Contract Versus Perm: Many agencies focus on contract or contract to permanent. If you’re seeking a direct placement partner only, make sure they have the capability to do this and know their success rate in doing it.
1.) Success in skills: Probably the most important criteria is ensuring the agency has a solid pipeline of candidates in the job skills you are seaking. If you’re looking for Help Desk people, ask the agency to provide you with references of other clients where they’ve place Help Desk people. Some might even be able to tell you about specific consultant they’ve had, their background and why they were a great employee.
