Role Title: Electrical Test Engineer
Duration: 6 months
Work Location: M-F Onsite in Mountain View and Palo Alto, CA. (No Hybrid or Remote).
Work Schedule: Normal PST business hours, Monday – Friday.
Trave: Travel to operational locations to support bringup, maintenance and troubleshooting of systems. Within 100 miles of MTV.
Project Overview:
- The Electrical Test Engineer will be responsible for performing tests, writing reports, and building prototype cables and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot electrical problems
- Maintain test equipment
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies
- Travel to test labs and operational sites for bring-up, teardown and configuration of systems
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
- Perform tests on electrical components and systems
- Write reports on test results
- Build, prototype, bring up of systems and assemblies
- Build prototype cables and assemblies
- Maintain test systems
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years in: Electrical Engineering Principles – Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles in testing
- 3+ years in: Test Equipment Proficiency – Experience with test equipment including power supplies, oscilloscope, function generators
- 3+ years in: Soldering – Experience with soldering techniques to build and rework equipment. Fix and troubleshoot of components.
- 3+ years in: Aviation Grade Electronics – Experience with aviation grade assembly and design. Provide design input on best practices and perform tasks with appropriate workmanship.
- 1+ years in: Cable Assembly Build, Test and Inspection – Experience with creating cable assemblies, testing existing cables and inspecting incoming cable assemblies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail
Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Troubleshoot electrical problems
- Maintain test equipment
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies
The hourly pay range for this position is $40-49.17/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
