TITLE: Application Engineer
LOCATION: Hybrid (Birmingham, AL onsite on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays)
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 12+ Month Contract (excellent potential for perm conversion
Application Engineer Responsibilities:
– Implement new applications and upgrade existing ones within the Nuclear Technology Solutions Applications Portfolio.
– Support interfaces between various applications that serve three nuclear plants and the corporate office.
– Collaborate with nuclear business units to understand their processes and leverage technology to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
– Work in a hybrid capacity, with office presence required three days a week.
Application Engineer Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, OR 6+ years of experience in Information Technology/Computer Science with a non-technical bachelor’s degree.
– Familiarity with Windows 11/10, MS Office, and Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022.
– Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with clients, peers, and management.
– Ability to build strong relationships across the technology organization and business.
– Strong technical and analytical skills with a customer service orientation.
– Vendor management experience.
– Compliance with standard development methodologies and change management practices.
Application Analyst Preferred Experience:
– 6-10 years of commercial nuclear power plant experience.
– Experience in supporting and implementing vendor application solutions, both web and Windows client solutions.
– Database experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL.
– Experience in Citrix environments.
– Familiarity with Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS).
– Knowledge of application development in .NET, C#, JAVA, and/or Angular.
– Experience with web services, Web API, Entity Framework, and LINQ.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $55-70/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
