The Senior Cloud Professional is a member of the Information Technology Team which supports and manages specialized infrastructure charged with the reliability of the North American power grid. This person will provide technical engineering, support, day to day management, and subject matter expertise for O365 / Azure and other cloud infrastructures. This role reports to the Director Information Technology Solutions Architecture. Ability to travel within North America is not expected often but may be required. The position is located in Atlanta, GA.
 

Responsibilities

  • Leads in the design, architecture, review, and support of cloud solutions to increase reliability, availability, and security though reducing the company’s risk profile.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with NERC’s internal IT Infrastructure and security teams on methodologies, strategies and technologies designed to enhance and continually improve our cloud-based systems and applications.
  • Provides expertise in Office 365 and Microsoft Azure with experience in (Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) policies for Office 365, Azure AD Identity Protection, Conditional Access (CA), Azure Information Protection and Office365 Message Encryption), architectural design, migration management and support.
  • Provides recommendations in Compliance & data retention leveraging Office 365 Data Loss Protection (DLP), Microsoft Purview, Syntex, Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), & Native Office 365 capabilities such as retention policies including Office 365 eDiscovery & Advanced eDiscovery.
  • Architect and engineer SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft Office 365 Groups, providing deep technical knowledge on various Teams architecture elements deployed in an Enterprise environment.
  • Collaborates in the evaluation of new and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Assesses the effectiveness and possible impact of threats and associated susceptibility of the corporation’s technology assets located in the cloud.
  • Establishes and implements monitoring and management infrastructure for both availability and performance management.
  • Develops and maintains cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
  • Regularly reviews existing systems and makes recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field and a minimum of 7 years as O365 / Azure Cloud support engineer or similar role leading the development and implementation of cloud solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of Office 365 Platform, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, PowerBI, Security & Compliance Center, Office Pro Plus and OneDrive for Business.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory services including forest and domain design, policies, topology, replication, and trusts.
  • Familiarity with networking and security best practices, standards, and compliance initiatives such as NIST 800 series, SOC Trust Services Criteria, and NERC CIP.
  • Experience utilizing advanced functions of Office 365 Security and Compliance center, Microsoft Federation Integration with Office 365, Azure, and Identity Management.
  • Ability to develop detailed processes, designs, and procedure documentation of current and future cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and its architecture.
  • Working knowledge of AWS technologies including solid understanding of CloudWatch, S3, IAM, AWS Systems Manager, and AWS Cloud Formation Templates(CFT).
  • Must have a strong understanding of Azure and/or AWS Well-Architected Frameworks in cloud production environments and understand how to use that knowledge to guide migration to the cloud.
  • Passionate, persuasive, articulate cloud professional capable of quickly establishing interest and credibility in how to design, deploy and operate cloud-based architectures. Strong written, verbal, and chalk board skills.
  • A capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities can change frequently.
  • Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience, a plus.
  • Experience with Cisco Duo MFA, a plus.

You are an EXCELLENT candidate if you have

  • Recognized industry security certifications and credentials specific to cloud security (GIAC/SANS, Cloud Security Alliance, AWS/Azure, etc.).
  • Advanced demonstrated proficiency in deploying Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, Software-as-a-Service, and other on-demand cloud computing solutions in Azure and AWS.
  • Working knowledge and comprehension of North American bulk power system.

  • Background check will be conducted prior to employment.

  • Ability to travel if needed between offices.
  • Position will be required to participate in on call rotation.
  • Position will be required to participate in weekend and after hours patching and change control duties.
