Our client is the largest branded marketer in North America of apparel exclusively for babies and young children. Their brands are sold in leading department stores, national chains, and specialty retailers domestically and internationally. They are also sold through more than 1,000 Company-operated stores in the United States, Canada, and Mexico and online. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

We are looking for an innovative, and team-oriented User Experience (UX) Designer to create unmatched digital experiences for some of the most important purchases moms make – those for their kids. Today’s mom is time starved, sleep deprived, and cash strapped, so the eCommerce team is focused on reimaging our digital experiences to alleviate some of the stressors from her everyday life and deliver experiences that are both seamless and delightful to shop.

As a UX Designer you will balance creativity and innovation to deliver customer-centric solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a proven record of collaborating effectively with the Product Management and Engineering to successfully translate business objectives and customer needs into final solutions. The candidate must demonstrate leadership, technical curiosity, and persistence to push ideas beyond the expected and deliver exceptional experiences.

Reporting to the Director of User Experience and Digital Content, this position will work closely with teams inside and outside of eCommerce including Brand, Merchandising, Development, and Marketing to deliver customer-centric solutions. The ideal candidate will be an expert in user-centered design processes, with keen focus on advocating for the customer. The candidate will consistently generate new ideas, approaches, and strategies that further the online experience for all brands and utilize industry best practices to define and implement solutions that make it easy for customers to shop. A firm understanding usability research, interaction design principles, and front-end development will be crucial in this role.

UX Designer Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and create innovative concepts in keeping with project scope, strategic positioning, and timelines
  • Solid, current, and proven skills in all areas of UX design (research, IA, visual, prototyping, design sprints, etc.)
  • Experience creating clean and organized design artifacts (flow, journey maps, wireframes, comps, prototypes, and related documentation)
  • Prepare, conduct, and validate working hypothesis with customers through usability research of wireframes, clickable prototypes, and published product, and participate in design critique
  • Working knowledge of current front-end capabilities and limitations to partner closely with development to implement solutions.
  • Experience, understanding, adaptability, and vocabulary necessary to work with engineers, business leaders, researchers, executives, and other key partner roles.

UX Designer Experience and Skills:

  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills
  • Understand business objectives and requirements in order to translate the information into easy-to-understand designs that meets outlined objectives, while exceeding customers’ expectations.
  • Ability to concept, present and execute. Act as an exemplary representative of the experience team with internal partners and external vendors with the ability to interact comfortably with senior leadership.
  • Provide creative solutions consistent with industry trends, demonstrating ability to problem-solve, organize and project manage.
  • Ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand designs and visual elements.
  • Flexibility and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience directly designing and developing in a retail environment or advertising agency
  • Ability to concept, present and execute. Act as an exemplary representative of the experience team with internal partners and external vendors with the ability to interact comfortably with senior leadership.
  • Provide creative solutions consistent with industry trends, demonstrating ability to problem-solve, organize and project manage.
  • Deep understanding of the tools of the trade (Sketch, XD, Photoshop, OmniGraffle, InVision, and other prototyping tools).
  • Solid, current, and proven skills in all areas of UX design (research, IA, visual, prototyping, design sprints, etc.)
