Design Ops Manager – Long-Term W2 Contract

Locations: Remote – Must Be Located In Boston, MA | Madison, WI | Phoenix, AZ | Denver, CO

Contract Type: Long-term W2 contract to hire 

 

 

Overview

We are seeking a Design Ops professional to lead the operations, tools, and governance models that enable design teams to scale effectively. This role will ensure consistency, efficiency, and alignment across design practices by driving process optimization, tool administration, and governance models that support both product and business outcomes.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Govern UX processes and standards to ensure consistency across teams.
  • Administer and optimize design tools and systems (e.g., Figma, Zeroheight, repositories).
  • Define and maintain file structures, naming conventions, and documentation for better discoverability and reuse.
  • Ensure alignment with the enterprise design system; monitor component usage and adoption.
  • Drive process optimization initiatives to reduce friction and improve delivery speed.
  • Partner with UX leaders to support change management for new tools, workflows, and governance models.
  • Maintain dashboards and metrics to track UX quality, adoption, and efficiency.
  • Establish structured feedback loops from pods, partners, and leadership to inform continuous improvements.
  • Ensure readiness for PI planning and delivery by embedding UX processes into agile workflows.

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $55 to $60/hour (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
