Data Engineer
TITLE: Data Engineer
LOCATION: 100% Remote
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 12+ Months (12/01/2025 to 12/31/2026)
Responsibilities:
- Support data platforms, data objects, data pipelines, and automated data integration to meet business application and data analysis needs.
- Optimize systems for data collection, storage, access, and analytics at scale.
- Create data pipelines that convert raw data into usable formats and source data into aggregated or derived analytical data.
- Make data available, accessible, and secure to stakeholders.
- Interact with the Performance Management team’s Product Manager and Director, internal staff, and IT team to understand requirements.
- Stay aware of technological changes and leverage or mitigate risks associated with software tools and platforms.
- Design and model data objects, data mapping, and data transformation in collaboration with data analysts and scientists.
- Implement data solutions, including quality and performance testing.
- Monitor the health, security, and performance of data solutions and resolve issues rapidly.
- Communicate issues, progress, and resolutions to management and stakeholders.
- Interface with IT support staff to ensure interoperability of data solutions.
- Develop support and training materials and mentor support staff.
- Develop realistic delivery timelines and communicate progress proactively.
- Follow company and department policies, processes, and procedures.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Arts or science degree, or higher, in business analysis, data analysis/engineering, systems analysis, IT product design, marketing, or related discipline; relevant experience or certifications may substitute.
- Eight-plus years of related experience with data solutions and platforms.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Proficiency in data manipulation, pipeline, and integration software programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, ETL, APIs, SQL, SOQL, Apache Airflow, Bash, Logstash).
- Experience handling major data formats such as CSV, Excel, JSON, RDBMS, hashes, arrays, APIs, and data/web services.
- Deep understanding of relational databases, including PostGres.
- Practical knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and how they interoperate with data applications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments.
- Strong marketing and cost/benefit analysis skills.
- Solid time-management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and meticulous documentation.
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Elastic (ELK) or Microsoft Fabric. (preferred, plus, nice-to-have)
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $51.71 to $89.84 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
