iSeries Administrator
TITLE: iSeries Administrator
LOCATION: Alpharetta, GA or Remote
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 1-2 years
Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining iSeries hardware and software in a 24×7 business operations environment.
- Support project activities related to operating system and software upgrades, new application implementations, and other Wheels projects under the direction of the Technical Lead.
- Help coordinate installation and maintenance of iSeries hardware and peripherals with the offshore support team.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance activities, including operating system updates, third-party application installations, software upgrades, and PTFs.
- Administer user accounts, security settings, and basic intersystem processing tasks.
- Provide first-level technical support for iSeries hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Document technical resolutions, processes, procedures, and configuration changes.
- Assist in regular audits to ensure compliance with Wheels technical and security requirements.
- Contribute to business continuity and risk management initiatives as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Technical Lead/Architect.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in CL Language for basic program management and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and their role in supporting business functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Capable of balancing multiple priorities and tasks.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player.
- Effective communicator, able to explain technical concepts to various audiences.
- Minimum bachelor's degree in an IT related field or appropriate work experience.
- 3+ years of iSeries Administration in an environment that contains multiple systems, networked locally and remotely.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with offshore or outsourced resources is a plus.
