TITLE: Enterprise Engineering Leader
LOCATION: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
DIRECT HIRE Position
Responsibilities:
- Guide the architecture and technical strategy for enterprise-scale integrations and backend systems.
- Lead a pod of 3–4 engineers, providing mentorship, solution direction, and engineering oversight.
- Collaborate with other architects and cross-functional teams on system design, scalability, and best practices.
- Contribute hands-on coding (approx. 10–50% depending on project phase) with a primary focus on leadership, architecture, and system design.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, standards, observability, and CI/CD improvements.
- Design and build GCP-based microservices supporting high-scale, high-volume enterprise workloads.
- Build custom REST and GraphQL APIs, enabling data integration across multiple internal and external systems.
- Lead enterprise system integrations, especially around ERP (NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Support integration initiatives in inventory, item master, financials, product catalog, and fulfillment.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines (Terraform, Kubernetes, containerization) and cloud infrastructure patterns.
- Partner on enterprise observability strategy using Datadog or similar platforms.
- Improve performance, reliability, and system health across high-load distributed services.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of engineering experience with strong backend expertise.
- Proven experience building microservices in GCP (Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript.
- Deep experience with REST and GraphQL APIs and enterprise integration design.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Strong understanding of ERP integrations—NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Experience integrating data across large, complex enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including architecture, mentoring, and team guidance.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or complex enterprise operations.
- Experience with highly customized enterprise platforms (vs. off-the-shelf e-commerce).
- Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, New Relic, etc.).
- Previous leadership of multi-pod or multi-team engineering structures.
The compensation range for this position is $160,000.00 to $240,000.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
