Scrum Master
4 days onsite in Atlanta Georgia area
W2 3-year contract, potential to convert FTE
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Product Owner to provide work direction to one or more Agile teams, including backlog management and grooming
- Teach the Scrum framework to Technology and Business teams and tailor to the organization as needed
- Organize and facilitate sprint planning sessions, daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Scrum-related meetings
- Track and communicate sprint/release progress via information radiators and team metrics
- Remove and/or escalate team roadblocks
- Coordinate release schedules, which may involve dependencies across other Agile and Waterfall teams
- Guide Agile teams to leverage an Agile mindset and fine-tune frameworks to increase maturity level
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 7+ years of overall experience in technology delivery
- 5+ years in a Scrum Master role, managing multiple teams
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe, etc.)
- Superior communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Agile mindset with expert knowledge of Agile practices (Scrum ceremonies, information radiators, continuous improvement techniques, Kanban, XP, etc.)
- Knowledge of Scrum success patterns, common challenges, and techniques to course correct when issues arise
- Flexibility to work with Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts, team sizes, organizations, cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.
- Experience with Software Development Life Cycle and Release Management
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Management concepts, including the ability to manage budgets, create resource plans and forecasts, prepare schedules, identify risks, and prepare mitigation plans
- Experience working on mixed methodology program (Scrum interfacing with Waterfall from a dependency perspective)
- Experience influencing and managing project teams without formal direct reporting relationships
- Experience building relationships with senior leaders, team members, and customers to execute on a common vision and strategy
- Ability to be a champion for continuous improvement within Technology and Business teams
- Experience with managing backlogs and sprints via an Agile Lifecycle Management tool (JIRA, VersionOne, Rally, etc.)
- High-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project, and SharePoint
Preferred Experience:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience in scaled Agile programs (SAFe, etc.)
- Working knowledge of technical engineering best practices (Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, DevOps, etc.)
- Working knowledge of best practices in Organization Change Management
- Previous experience in Utility industry
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $70.00 to $80.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
