Senior Database Administrator Responsibilities:
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance across Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Participate in Exadata server migration and cloud transition projects.
- Maintain and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, including participation in annual DR exercises.
- Monitor database health, proactively identify issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support day-to-day database requests and collaborate with application teams to resolve issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for primary and secondary DBA coverage.
- Contribute to a small team environment, providing coverage for colleagues and ensuring seamless operations.
- Strong hands-on experience administering Oracle (19c/23c) and SQL Server databases in production environments.
- Experience in enterprise environments managing large databases (3–5 TB).
- Deep understanding of relational database design, implementation, and performance tuning.
- Experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, storage, and SAN technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
- Willingness to learn SQL Server if not already proficient.
- Experience with Oracle Exadata, RAC, Active Data Guard, CDB/PDB architectures, and OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
- Exposure to MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other non-Oracle/SQL Server platforms.
- Experience with SQL Server SSAS and SSIS.
- Linux shell scripting and automation experience.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database services (OCI, AWS, Azure).
The annual salary for this position is $135,000 – $145,000 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
