Instructional Designer
TITLE: Instructional Designer
LOCATION: Remote
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 5 months (April 2026 – August 2026)
Position Overview
We are seeking a contract Instructional Design Specialist to support the implementation of a new e-learning authoring platform (Parta.io), refresh existing certification content, and assist with assessment development for a new certificate program.
This role is execution-focused and technical in nature. The overall learning objectives, instructional framework, and assessments have already been designed. The selected candidate will focus on content builds, updates, migration, QA, and implementation within established templates and style guides.
This is not a strategic curriculum design role. It is ideal for an instructional designer with 2–5 years of hands-on e-learning development experience who is detail-oriented and comfortable working within defined standards.
Key Responsibilities
Parta Implementation & Content Migration
- Support the implementation and transition to Parta.io, the new e-learning authoring platform
- Build and configure course content in Parta using established templates and asset structures
- Migrate existing content from Rise (legacy authoring tool) into Parta
- Pilot and test modules within Parta as directed
- Ensure all builds align with defined content hierarchy and instructional standards
- Document progress, updates, and issues for handoff
Course Refresh & Product Updates
- Update approximately three existing courses with:
- New product screenshots
- Updated feature messaging
- UI changes and enhancements
- Capture and create screenshots or GIFs as needed (Snagit/Camtasia)
- Align course content with current product documentation
- Update instructional copy while maintaining consistency with the established writing style guide
- Follow the defined instructional model and lesson structure
Certificate Program Support
- Author capstone project activities and corresponding solutions for a new certificate program
- Author exam question items aligned to existing learning objectives
- Ensure consistency with established certification structure and assessment framework
Quality Assurance & Content Maintenance
- Perform QA audits on published courses to identify outdated or inaccurate content
- Resolve minor bugs and formatting inconsistencies
- Monitor and maintain live learning paths within the LMS (Skilljar)
- Flag larger strategic or design-level issues for internal review
Tools & Platforms
Experience with the following tools is preferred (training on Parta-specific workflows will be provided):
- Parta.io — Primary authoring platform
- Rise (Articulate Rise 360) — Legacy reference tool
- Skilljar — LMS platform
- Snagit / Camtasia — Screenshot and GIF capture
- Google Docs / Google Drive — Documentation and collaboration
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or educational content production
- Hands-on experience building content in e-learning authoring tools (Rise, Parta.io, Articulate Storyline/Rise 360, or similar)
- Experience working within established templates, style guides, and brand standards
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around UI accuracy and formatting consistency
- Experience updating SaaS product training or technical instructional content
- Ability to work independently in a remote, async-first environment
- Strong written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SaaS or technology customer education programs
- Experience migrating content between authoring platforms
- Experience authoring exam items or certification assessments
- Understanding of SCORM/xAPI standards
- Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Skilljar
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50.00 to $62.00/hr dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
