TITLE: Senior Instructional Designer

LOCATION: Remote

ANTICIPATED DURATION: 12 Months

 

We are seeking a candidate with a strong instructional design background and the expertise to design, develop, and update high-impact training materials using a variety of tools and learning strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Use instructional design expertise to analyze, design, and develop effective and engaging instructional materials that meet audience needs
  • Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand, define, and capture their training requirements and propose appropriate learning strategies that successfully address the needs of the target audience and involve suitable training delivery modalities
  • Develop training and content for consumers (including but not limited to instructor-led videos, assessments, readings, activities, and labs which are web-based, interactive environments where learners practice a new technical skill) using clear writing, communication, and instructional design principles and strategies
  • Conduct design and content reviews effectively and in a timely manner
  • Work cross-functionally and develop a trusting partnership with stakeholders and SMEs
  • Regularly report status of projects

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably in tech environment
  • Extensive instructional design experience specifically designing for online video-based content that is engaging, interactive, and concise
  • Experience with creating online educational content in a variety of learning formats (eg readings, quizzes, assessments) for an online course / MOOC
  • Advanced instructional design knowledge and exposure to latest industry trends in the fields of instructional design, learning strategies & technologies, and training tools
  • Experience designing content for consumers (B2C) with non technical backgrounds, i.e. not B2B or highly advanced audience, to better align with our content goals and personas
  • Experience using AI tools (such as Gemini, NotebookLM, or AI Studio) to work faster and smarter
  • Understanding of how to work with SMEs and data / insights to determine how to teach the most relevant skills for learners
  • Ability to give guidance about what visuals would support learning – e.g., suggest relevant animations for a video script to bring a concept to life
  • Nice to have – grasp of marketing in order to “hook” learners and make the content engaging

 

Professional Skills

  • Strong, clear, instructional writing is a must
  • Professional, and concise communications (written/verbal), presentation and facilitation skills, attention to detail
  • A consultative approach with persuasive communication skills to effectively manage stakeholders
  • Ability to take initiative, set priorities independently, and complete assigned deliverables within the defined time with limited supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to operate successfully in a fast-changing, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environment

 

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $55.00 to $72.00/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
