Software Engineer
TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Chicago – Hybrid (Hybrid work: Tues-Thurs in the office. Monday & Friday remote)
From 04/01/2026 to 10/10/2026
- Support the Search Log Quality (SLQ) systems through system monitoring and quality assurance
- Maintain and enhance SLQ monitors and conduct audits to standardize filtering
- Resolve ownership staleness bugs and update metadata/screenshots for active visual elements (VEs)
- Assist in migrating logging code to new frameworks and refactoring C++ logic
- Transition frontend tools from React to Boq Wiz
- Validate AI-generated boilerplate code and VE suggestions
- Conduct human evaluations for internal tools like Seeker and Sherlog
- Create documentation groups for common technical questions and develop “canonical bug” collections for training
- A Bachelor’s degree or practical professional experience
- At least 3 years of software development experience using one or more languages (or 1 year for those with an advanced industry-related degree)
- 2 years of experience working with algorithms and data structures
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Go
- Practical coding experience with Java, C++, or Kotlin
- Understanding of distributed systems, RPC infrastructure, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming
- Proven troubleshooting skills for production issues
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Resourceful problem-solving attitude in high-velocity environments
- A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for learning
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $0.00 to $101.09 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
