Job Title: Content Creator / Writer (W2 Contract)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid: Onsite 3 days per week)

Are you a passionate storyteller with a flair for making complex topics approachable and engaging? We’re seeking a dynamic Content Creator and Writer to help reimagine how audiences experience weather. Combining live coverage, compelling blog content, and social media storytelling, this role offers an exciting opportunity to bring weather stories to life—informatively, authentically, and with a touch of personality.
What You’ll Do:
- Craft, edit, and publish engaging blogs, articles, video scripts, and social media posts that captivate and inform our audience
- Cover live and breaking weather events swiftly and accurately, providing timely updates
- Incorporate vivid anecdotes and relatable language to make weather content conversational and accessible
- Collaborate closely with editors, producers, and designers to create compelling multimedia stories
- Help develop and maintain a fun, quirky, and approachable brand voice—distinct from traditional or overly corporate tones
- Balance precision with creativity, producing multiple stories under tight deadlines
- Stay current on weather conditions and cultural trends to ensure content is timely and relevant
- Leverage audience engagement tools and analytics to enhance reach and content performance
- Participate in live video updates and on-camera segments (preferred but not required)
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional writing experience in journalism, creative writing, or related fields
- Proven ability to write quickly, clearly, and with creativity, especially under tight deadlines
- Versatility in producing diverse content types—from blogs to live updates and social media posts
- Experience creating captivating digital content, with an understanding of SEO best practices and audience engagement strategies
- A conversational, approachable voice that connects with a broad and younger audience
- Genuine interest in weather phenomena and making weather information engaging and accessible
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Background in meteorology or strong skills in communicating weather concepts clearly
- On-camera experience delivering live or pre-recorded updates
- Familiarity with digital publishing tools, video production, or content marketing platforms
- A fresh, youthful writing style that resonates with millennial and Gen Z audiences

The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $20.00 to $25.00/hr. Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
