TITLE: Full Stack Websphere Commerce Developer

LOCATION: Fully Remote

ANTICIPATED DURATION: 1-2 year contract

Responsibilities:

  • Support and enhance the existing WebSphere Commerce application, including gathering requirements, documenting specifications, and designing new features.
  • Build and implement multi-tier eCommerce applications supporting complex business needs, both front-end and back-end, within an Agile environment.
  • Facilitate application integration testing, develop integrations via web services (REST/SOAP), perform data conversions, and participate in system cut-over activities.
  • Assist in the development and customization of storefront pages, business logic, and data management using WebSphere Commerce tools.
  • Develop new microservices with Java and Spring Boot, while supporting front-end migration using React.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues, ensure code reusability, and follow best practices in commerce development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience working with WebSphere Commerce (version 8.x experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience in Java development, object-oriented design, and building scalable backend services.
  • Strong proficiency in React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and related technologies.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP web services for system integrations.
  • Familiarity with source control/versioning tools such as GIT, SVN, or CVS.
  • Experience working with MVC frameworks like Struts or Spring MVC; understanding of different commerce models such as B2B and Mobile Commerce is preferred.
  • Ability to work with complex relational data models and optimize database interactions.
  • Additional skills include experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and full-stack development concepts.

Preferred Experience:

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $70 to $85 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
