Synergis’ client, a leading designer and producer of avionics and ruggedized electronics for the defense and aerospace markets, has engaged us in a search for a talented, well-rounded IT Systems Administrator to join their growing company. The selected IT Systems Administrator will provide broad support from basic troubleshooting to being an instrumental component in large-scale projects. This person will have a strong security-mindset, and have a willingness to assist, regardless of the task.
IT Systems Administrator Responsibilities:
- Maintain/Support our client’s Microsoft 365 GCC (Government Community Cloud) High environment, with administrative responsibilities for Exchange, Teams, Azure AD, and OneDrive
- Collaborate with their 3rd party MSSP on threat detection, response and vulnerability management.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues
- Provide tier 2/3 technical support for IT incidents and service requests.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks
- Monitor system performance and security
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Monitor security systems and networks for threats
- Analyze security events and alerts
- Identify and mitigate potential risks
- Respond to and manage security incidents
- Conduct investigations and implement containment measures
- Coordinate with other teams and departments to resolve incidents
IT Systems Administrator Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of training, education and direct experience
- 3 to 5+ years of recent experience in an IT Systems Administration role
- Hands on experience with Microsoft 365 GCC High is a must
- Network Administration experience (Cisco Meraki experience)
- The ideal candidate has experience from a small to mid-sized company and is used to having multiple responsibilities
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Familiarity with endpoint protection, identity management, and secure cloud practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
- You should be a collaborative individual who can drive success with the existing team.
- The ideal candidate is someone who is eager to grow with the company and is not afraid to take on new projects and responsibilities
IT Systems Administrator Preferred
- Working knowledge of CMMC Level 2 or higher and NIST SP 800-171 Standards. Responsibilities to NOT include writing these policies but understanding in order to follow.
IT Systems Administrator Other:
- Due to the nature of the work, this position requires access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Therefore, all candidates must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR
- The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is a plus, but not a necessity, as no current contracts require it.
- Ability and willingness to travel, with travel potentially being up to 40% in the first few months for larger projects, then becoming less frequent, such as quarterly trips for a week at a time.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 annually
(dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
