TITLE: Learning Design Specialist
LOCATION: Mountain View, CA
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 6 Months
Project Overview:
Our client's education teams build products to help everyone in the world learn anything in the world. We enhance learning for school, learning for work, and learning for life. This project focuses on enhancing AI-generated learning products from a pedagogical perspective.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Consult with education product teams on product design focused on enhancing teaching experiences backed by learning sciences research
- Evaluate the quality of education products and provide recommendations from an educators’ perspective
- Requirements: Experience in successfully designing, developing, delivering and improving high-quality K12 edtech products. Excellent communication, facilitation skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
- Consult with product teams developing education features and suggest improvements aligned with learning science best practices
- Help prototype new education features
- Evaluate AI tutoring systems and products
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
- 4+ years high school / college educator / tutoring experience in multiple subjects, either in-person or online
- College degree or equivalent in education, instructional design, computer science, or related field
- Strong writing skills for a variety of audiences
- Fluency with GSuite products, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides
Non-Essential Skills
- Advanced education in pedagogical principles and learning sciences research
- Knowledge of computer science, large language models, and prompt engineering
- Consulting with education technology products
- Use of genAI tools to improve productivity and efficacy of learning experiences
- Experience conducting professional development for educators
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $59.81 to $72.98 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
