Policy & Process Documentation Specialist

Location: Remote (must be local to Phoenix, AZ)
Contract: Through March 2026

 

Project Overview (About the Business)

The Resilience & Incident Management team is focused on preparing the business for scale. They build and maintain policy and standards for how the organization prepares for and responds to events and incidents (collisions, physical security events, adverse weather, civil unrest, cybersecurity, etc.).

They also maintain an event taxonomy mapping intake sources to triggers, response decisions, and actions, with clearly defined stakeholder responsibilities. As an enterprise function, the team collaborates with Operations, Physical Security, Product & Engineering, Legal, and Communications.


Overall Responsibilities (About the Position)

This role will define and write policy and standards for how the business prepares for and responds to events impacting people, assets, or business continuity. Candidates must have exceptional communication skills, be highly skilled at synthesizing diverse inputs into clear documentation, and have strong knowledge of business resilience programs, external standards, and relevant certifications.


Top 3 Daily Responsibilities

  • Write policy, standards, and response plans for various event/incident scenarios.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define roles & responsibilities and support change management for new processes.

  • Partner with technical writers to refine documentation, ensure compliance with organizational standards, and manage upload into document management systems.

  • Align work and standards to the enterprise event taxonomy; recommend revisions to ensure clear intake/trigger mapping.


Mandatory Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years in technical, policy, or procedure writing.

  • Communication: Exceptional written & verbal skills for both technical and non-technical audiences (executives, technical teams, customers). Ability to write clear, concise policies to minimize errors and accelerate adoption.

  • Research: Ability to read, summarize, tailor, and apply external technical standards; integrate multiple standards into a “best fit” solution.

  • Problem-solving: Ability to identify root causes quickly and develop effective solutions under pressure.

  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to unify cross-functional responses.

  • Office Productivity Software: Proficiency with Docs, Sheets, and Slides; familiarity with document management systems (e.g., AODocs) a plus.


Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of business resilience concepts, processes, and incident detection/response techniques.

  • Certifications: Relevant credentials (e.g., Business Continuity Institute – BCI, Disaster Recovery Institute International – DRI, ISO 22301).

  • Industry Experience: Background in transportation or technology, particularly where operations intersect with software or product offerings. Operations experience is also valuable.

    The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $90.00 to $98.00/hr.  Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
