Senior Manager of Cyber Defense and Security Operations

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manager of Cyber Defense and Security Operations to be a leader on our Security team. Need someone that will own strategic direction, development, innovation and implementation of cyber strategy.  This individual will assume leadership of our efforts to mature and enhance our cyber threat detection, analysis, and response capabilities. This position sits at the intersection of some of the most important security functions.  The successful candidate will possess the ability to bring to bear a combination of hands-on operational, investigative and incident response experience, technical acuity, good judgment, and the ability to quickly and decisively separate signal from noise to see events and potential security issues as they are developing. 
  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for establishing and fostering a vision, culture, and technical/operational priorities and roadmap to fully exploit and automate the full capabilities of our security monitoring tools, team, and processes to identify, analyze, and respond to threats to protect the firm.
  • Demonstrate leadership and advanced knowledge of proactive threat hunting, advanced analytics, behavior analysis, response automation, and scripted queries to perform in-depth analysis of security logs and data.
  • Act as a skilled people manager that actively manages the development of security talent and skillsets so that our people are organized, trained, and equipped to operate at a high level.
  • Lead and manage the Cyber Defense and Security Operations team, providing strategic direction and oversight, and day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security procedures and controls to ensure the protection of the firm’s information and technology environments.
  • Oversee the effective engineering, operations, and management of our full stack of security technologies, monitoring, alerting, and response activities.
  • Utilize Security Automation and Orchestration tools to enhance incident response and streamline security operations.
  • Conduct and supervise cybersecurity investigations, analysis, and reporting on security incidents.
  • Lead the Incident Response team, ensuring timely and effective response to security events and incidents.
  • Lead and manage the development and use of scripts for querying and analyzing data within the Security Monitoring environment.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, ensuring continuous improvement of the security posture.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure security is integrated into all business processes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the status of security operations and incident responses.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. A Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and other SIEM tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Security Automation, Security Orchestration tools, and Zscaler.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and securing cloud environments.
  • Proficient in scripting for data analysis and querying.
  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity investigations and analysis.
  • Proven track record in managing and responding to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.

The compensation range for this position includes a base + bonus and full benefits and is based on experience (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
