Senior UX Generalist

12+-month Contract-to-Hire
100% Remote — Candidates must be local to Atlanta or Chicago

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior UX Generalist to help define and deliver future-state digital experiences in the auto insurance and mobility space. This role requires a versatile designer who thrives on human-centered design practices and can collaborate across research, design, product, business, and technology.

You’ll work on shopping, quoting, purchase, and binding flows, while also exploring opportunities to integrate AI-driven solutions into user experiences. As a key member of the Experience Design (XD) team, you’ll be seen as an expert in the end-to-end UX process—bringing strategic thinking, conceptual design, and executional craft together to create seamless and innovative customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute end-to-end UX design processes—from discovery and concepting through prototyping and delivery.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to envision future-state user experiences for auto insurance and related customer journeys.

  • Translate complex business requirements into intuitive and meaningful information architectures, wireframes, journey maps, service blueprints, and prototypes.

  • Contribute to and challenge existing design systems to ensure scalable, enterprise-wide solutions.

  • Collaborate with researchers to integrate customer insights into design decisions.

  • Advocate for human-centered design practices, ensuring customer needs and business goals are balanced.

  • Explore and leverage AI capabilities to enhance usability, personalization, and automation across experiences.

Required Experience

  • 4–7 years of UX design experience, preferably in enterprise or complex system environments.

  • Strong background in future-state design and aspirational product/experience thinking.

  • Demonstrated experience in agile environments with cross-functional collaboration.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) as well as UX tools such as Sketch, InVision, Axure, Figma, or similar.

  • Experience creating journey maps, service blueprints, wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation.

  • Strong understanding of web design principles, responsive frameworks, and enterprise UX patterns.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to or training in AI, machine learning, or intelligent systems design.

  • Experience designing for insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and workflows for claims associates, underwriters, or service roles.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge assumptions constructively.
