Software Engineer
TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Kirkland, WA (Onsite)
ANTICIPATED DURATION: From 03/09/2026 to 09/09/2026
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance algorithms and pipelines for speed limit data ingestion and processing using Java and Flume.
- Contribute to the implementation of features within the speed limits pipeline.
- Analyze data from sources such as golden data, operator evaluations, and internal metrics to assess data quality.
- Identify patterns, trends, and root causes of errors or inconsistencies in speed limit predictions.
- Use tools like SQL, Plx, Colab, and Google Sheets to query, manipulate, and visualize data.
- Collaborate with engineers, data analysts, and product managers to share findings and propose solutions.
- Document findings, experiment results, and system designs.
- Identify opportunities for algorithmic and data quality improvements based on analysis.
- Manage priorities and make independent progress on projects and analyses.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience in Java.
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience with data analysis, including SQL querying and data manipulation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and results clearly.
- Experience working independently and managing project priorities.
Preferred Experience:
- Master's degree or further education in relevant fields.
- Experience with development tools and infrastructure (e.g., Google3, Blaze, FlumeJava, Borg).
- Familiarity with geospatial data and concepts (e.g., MapFacts, FeatureProtos).
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of statistical methods.
- Experience in data quality analysis and improvement.
- Familiarity with evaluation frameworks and A/B testing.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $100.00 to $126.01 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
