System Administrator
TITLE: System Administrator – Oracle VM
LOCATION: 100% remote
ANTICIPATED DURATION: From 04/13/2026 to 12/31/2026
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine system administration across Windows and Linux environments
- Maintain and support virtualized infrastructure including Oracle VM Manager, Hyper-V, and VMware
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability across servers and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-related issues
- Apply patches, updates, and security configurations to maintain system integrity
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Assist with system migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization efforts
- Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues and implement improvements
- Provide occasional after-hours support for maintenance windows or critical issues as needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in hybrid environments
- Mid-to-senior level experience supporting production infrastructure independently
- Strong experience with:
- Windows Server environments
- Linux administration (various distributions)
- Oracle VM Manager
- Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization platforms
- Experience supporting both on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based systems
- Solid troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, networking, and applications
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Oracle-based environments or application stacks
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar)
- Experience with system migrations and infrastructure transitions
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and automation/scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
- Understanding of security best practices in hybrid environments
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $45.00 to $50.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
