Vulnerability Analyst
TITLE: Vulnerability Analyst
LOCATION: Atlanta or Birmingham
ANTICIPATED DURATION: From 05/01/2026 to 12/31/2026
Responsibilities:
- Support vulnerability and patch management programs, enhance application security, and analyze potential exposures
- Identify security vulnerabilities in the design, architecture, or implementation of IT or OT systems
- Perform network scans and identify vulnerabilities in web applications, networks, systems, embedded devices, and firmware
- Support vulnerability scanning, attack surface management, and cloud security posture management tools
- Understand OWASP common vulnerabilities and testing methodologies
- Understand system and application security threats and vulnerabilities, such as buffer overflow, cross-site scripting, code injection, and race conditions
- Work with different operating systems, including Windows and LINUX/UNIX systems
- Follow IT security and hardening best practices for operating systems, web applications, and network devices
- Build interactive dashboards and reports in PowerBI to visualize security metrics and exposure management data
- Utilize Microsoft Excel advanced features like PivotTables and VLOOKUP for data analysis
- Use SIEM tools for search queries, log analysis, and dashboard creation; previous SOC analyst experience preferred
- Organize tasks, manage priorities, meet schedules, and deliver on commitments
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility with changing priorities and emerging threats
- Drive discussions and consensus with stakeholders regarding patching, security recommendations, and mitigation strategies
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, working independently and collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $55.00 to $68.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
