TITLE: Java Developer

LOCATION: Georgia OR Colorado – REMOTE

ANTICIPATED DURATION: From 12/01/2025 to 05/30/2026

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of custom Java code and web services.
  • Act as the leading technical resource with knowledge of the Pega PRPC framework.
  • Lead end-to-end design and direct the work of various team members, including FTE and contractors (up to 15).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team.
  • Work cooperatively with other functional teams performing quality and performance testing.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical architecture and solution design documents.
  • Follow best practices related to software development.
  • Support and assist on high-critical responses as needed.
  • Lead teams to integrate internal and external systems.
  • Analyze and provide accurate estimates.
  • Take the lead role in performance tuning, security, and architecture design.

Requirements:

  • 7 years of Java/J2EE development experience as a developer with extensive experience in Object-Oriented Design and Development.
  • 7 years experience with Servlets, JDBC, Ant, JUnit, XML, SQL, stored procedures, database design.
  • 5 years developing J2EE web services (SOA) using WSDL, SOAP/REST, and W3C XML Schema.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working on development projects using the SDLC methodology.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with other teams (e.g., Security, Infrastructure).
  • Ability to become Pega certified.
  • Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Ability to analyze and provide accurate estimates.
  • Experience working with senior management and enterprise architecture.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with both Spring and Hibernate (annotations or hbm.xml config).
  • Java certifications a plus.
  • Hands-on knowledge of WSDL development, including defining messages, operations, services, and fault handling.
  • Experience with front-end web frameworks like Adobe Flex, Dojo Toolkit, jQuery, or other AJAX-based frameworks.
  • Experience with XML/XSLT.
  • Experience with Struts (1 or 2) or Spring MVC.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Customer service and results-oriented mindset while maintaining a team focus.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with CRM/ERP or BPM systems is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps and Agile methodology.
  • Pega and/or BPM systems hands-on experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in an enterprise-level or highly matrixed environment.

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50.00 to $68.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
