Senior Product Manager – Data Products (Retail Media)
Position Purpose
The Senior Product Manager, Data Products is responsible for driving the design, delivery, and adoption of data products that enable media sales, planning, activation, measurement, and optimization across a retail media ecosystem. This role bridges business strategy and technical execution, ensuring data products are scalable, reliable, and aligned with growth objectives.
This position requires a strong blend of customer-back product thinking, user-centric design, and technical acumen to deliver data products that power internal teams and partners in building, measuring, and optimizing media campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning (Approx. 50%)

Develop deep empathy for end users and apply insights to determine the fastest path to delivering product value

Translate business goals and user needs into clear product strategy, roadmaps, and priorities

Define success metrics, analytics, and KPIs to measure product impact and inform backlog decisions

Own and continuously refine the product backlog, prioritizing based on business value and user outcomes

Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to support business planning and new growth opportunities

Monitor market trends, research, and competitive landscape to ensure products remain best-in-class

Balance user needs and business objectives, including driving sales, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction
Delivery & Execution (Approx. 20%)

Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and validation

Create, prioritize, and accept user stories, incorporating them into release and delivery planning
-
Make informed product decisions daily by evaluating value, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs
-
Ensure quality, documentation, and change control standards are consistently met

Participate in agile ceremonies including standups, planning sessions, demos, and retrospectives

Translate complex technical and data concepts into clear, non-technical language for stakeholders
Collaboration & Leadership (Approx. 30%)

Foster strong collaboration across engineering, analytics, UX, operations, and business teams

Advocate for end users by deeply understanding workflows and pain points

Manage cross-functional stakeholder expectations and guide prioritization decisions

Support and mentor more junior team members in product strategy, analysis, and execution

Promote modern product management and software development best practices

Contribute to continuous learning and improvement initiatives across the product organization
Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a Product Manager in a modern, software-driven enterprise environment

Proven experience delivering customer-back, data-driven products that solve real business problems

Strong ability to translate business objectives into product roadmaps, backlogs, and requirements

Experience defining metrics, analytics, and success measures to evaluate product value

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Demonstrated ability to create clear documentation, executive-ready presentations, and product artifacts
-
Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional environments, balancing short-term delivery with long-term strategy
Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of data modeling, pipelines, and data quality concepts

Experience partnering with data engineering and analytics teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions

Comfort working with SQL, APIs, or similar tools to validate data and guide requirements

Familiarity with retail media or digital advertising ecosystems, including media planning, activation, and measurement

Exposure to campaign optimization, attribution, or incrementality testing
