Associate Pricing Strategy & Operations Manager
TITLE: Associate Pricing Strategy & Operations Manager
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA or New York, NY
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 12 months
Overview
The Marketing Solutions team supports the Ads business with a strong focus on creating, managing, and optimizing incentives for advertising customers, particularly within the SMB segment. This team partners closely with Pricing, Marketing, Sales, and Growth teams to support customer acquisition, retention, and re-engagement across the full customer lifecycle.
This role is highly execution-focused and operational in nature. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who is comfortable working in fast-moving, highly manual environments, owns details end-to-end, and uses data—especially SQL—to bring clarity, structure, and visibility to complex incentive programs.
Key Responsibilities
Incentive Operations & Program Management
- Support the day-to-day execution and operations of advertising incentive programs across Pricing, Marketing, and Sales teams.
- Create, track, and maintain advertising incentives, owning incentive tracking end-to-end across their lifecycle.
- Manage highly manual processes, including incentives created directly in systems and tracked via shared spreadsheets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date incentive records, flagging risks, issues, or inconsistencies to cross-functional partners.
- Ensure visibility, alignment, and clear communication across teams managing incentives.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Use SQL to query internal platforms, analyze incentive performance, and assess utilization and customer adoption.
- Support reporting, troubleshoot data or tracking issues, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to evaluate commercial and incentive initiatives and inform operational decisions.
- Translate complex data findings into simplified, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
Process Improvement & Automation
- After ramping (~3 months), begin identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual work.
- Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and consolidate fragmented tracking systems.
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) thoughtfully to support automation and operational efficiency—while maintaining strong independent SQL proficiency.
- Drive data-informed recommendations to improve incentive effectiveness and operational scalability.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Pricing, Business Analytics, Business Operations, Program/Project Management, Finance, or a related role.
- Strong foundational SQL skills (required):
- SQL is a core part of this role and the interview process.
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to write and understand SQL independently (not reliant on AI-generated queries).
- Experience using data to analyze performance, identify issues, and support decision-making.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple active initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in tech, SaaS, online marketplaces, or commerce-driven platforms (e.g., Uber Eats, DoorDash, similar environments).
- Background in program management and/or finance with exposure to pricing or commercial models.
- Experience tracking work using tools such as Jira, Microsoft Planner, or similar.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL experience, including working with large datasets.
- Familiarity with customer lifecycle concepts, offer timing, incentive usage, and effectiveness within digital experiences.
- Exposure to data-driven strategy, pricing, or growth initiatives.
Core Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
- Structured problem-solving and comfort navigating ambiguity
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, systems, and approaches
- Ability to think creatively about operational challenges and alternative solutions
