TITLE: .NET Developer
LOCATION: Birmingham, AL
ANTICIPATED DURATION: From 05/18/2026 to 12/31/2026
Responsibilities:
- Support, develop, implement, and maintain software solutions in the coal services area of Commercial Operations.
- Gather and document requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and support the full software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with teams to improve data durability, reduce manual effort, and support long-term sustainability of inventory and logistics processes.
- Support applications supporting the Fuel Services business area.
- Work closely with business partners to ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Experience supporting, implementing, testing, and integrating desktop, web applications, and web services (required).
- Strong experience with C#, .NET / .NET Core, Blazor, relational databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle).
- Hands-on experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements for enterprise applications.
- Experience with Software Composition Analysis (SCA) Scanning (SonarQube/Sonatype) and security vulnerabilities scanning (Fortify) tools including experience remediating issues (preferred).
- Knowledge of supporting enterprise level vendor business solutions is preferred.
- Strong all-around application support and technical skills, including web and desktop applications, web services, multi-tiered applications, and relational databases.
- Experience supporting applications on client and Windows Server operating systems preferred.
- Experience with scripting such as PowerShell is a plus.
- Experience with source control, continuous integration and deployment, and developer best practices.
- Familiarity with Git or TeamCity is a plus.
- Full lifecycle development and delivery experience using modern technologies, design patterns, test-driven development, and object-oriented frameworks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Results-oriented, team player, flexible, proactive, and strategic thinker.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting Commercial Operations or related areas.
- Support experience with enterprise-level vendor solutions.
- Knowledge of data modeling and SQL Server.
- Experience with scripting and support on Windows operating systems.
- Support experience with full software development lifecycle using latest practices.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $45.00 to $70.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
