Senior Product Designer

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid 2 Days/Week) or Fully Remote (U.S.)
Type: W2 Contract
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Compensation: $60–70/hr W2

Our client is seeking a Senior Product Designer to help shape and modernize complex dealer-facing software experiences within a leading automotive technology platform. This role will focus on designing workflow-heavy B2B SaaS products used daily by automotive dealerships to manage sales operations, customer engagement, and performance insights.

This is an opportunity to work on highly impactful tools that support the full dealership sales lifecycle—from lead intake through conversion—while helping drive the evolution of AI-powered capabilities across the platform.

The ideal candidate brings a strong systems-thinking mindset, deep experience designing complex digital products, and the ability to simplify data-heavy workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences.

About the Product

This platform serves dealership sales representatives, managers, and operations teams by combining critical business functions into a unified experience, including:

  • Lead management and prioritization
  • Customer communication workflows (email, SMS, follow-ups)
  • Inventory visibility and tracking
  • Pipeline and deal management
  • Reporting, analytics, and operational insights

The product is also evolving through AI-driven capabilities such as:

  • Lead scoring and prioritization
  • Suggested next actions and recommendations
  • Workflow automation
  • Insights that help identify high-intent buyers and improve sales efficiency

What Makes This Role Unique

This is not traditional consumer-facing UX work. The environment is highly operational, workflow-driven, and data dense.

Design challenges include:

  • Simplifying complex multi-step workflows
  • Structuring large amounts of information clearly and efficiently
  • Designing for speed, usability, and productivity
  • Balancing modernization efforts with legacy system constraints
  • Integrating AI-driven functionality into practical, trustworthy user experiences

Success in this role requires someone who can think holistically about systems, workflows, and business operations—not just individual screens.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of complex product features and end-to-end workflows across desktop and mobile experiences
  • Translate business goals, customer needs, and operational requirements into thoughtful, user-centered solutions
  • Drive design efforts tied to AI-focused product transformation initiatives
  • Own the full design lifecycle from discovery and research through prototyping, delivery, and post-launch validation
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineering teams to influence roadmap direction through design thinking and user insights
  • Conduct and support user research activities including usability testing, field studies, behavioral analysis, and synthesis of findings
  • Create UX deliverables including:
    • User flows
    • Journey maps
    • Wireframes
    • Information architecture
    • High-fidelity UI designs
    • Interactive prototypes
  • Present and advocate for design decisions with stakeholders, clearly communicating rationale, trade-offs, and business impact
  • Facilitate workshops, critiques, design sprints, and collaborative working sessions
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation and production readiness
  • Contribute to and evolve existing design systems by identifying gaps, improving consistency, and proposing scalable component solutions
  • Maintain a high standard of usability, accessibility, and design quality across all delivered work
  • Leverage AI and LLM-based tools to accelerate discovery, prototyping, insight generation, and workflow optimization
  • Continuously improve team processes, tools, and design operations within agile environments
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively while balancing speed, quality, and stakeholder alignment

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent professional experience

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Information architecture
    • Interaction design
    • Usability principles
    • Workflow optimization
  • Experience leading end-to-end product design across shipped digital products
  • Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience conducting user research and applying findings to product decisions
  • Proficiency with Figma and modern design tooling
  • Experience working within and contributing to design systems
  • Ability to create polished UX deliverables across all fidelity levels
  • Experience building advanced prototypes and exploring AI-assisted workflows
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong design craft, workflow thinking, and measurable business impact

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing AI-powered or AI-assisted product experiences
  • Familiarity with LLM workflows, AI tooling, and emerging design technologies
  • Experience with tools such as Claude Enterprise, Figma Make, MCPs, or related AI platforms
  • Understanding of AI product considerations including:
    • Model limitations
    • Guardrails
    • Evaluation frameworks
    • Feedback loops
  • Experience designing data-heavy applications and operational workflows
  • Experience scaling or evolving enterprise design systems
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Experience facilitating workshops, critiques, and cross-functional collaboration sessions
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior designers
  • Previous automotive industry experience is a plus

  • CRM platforms
  • Sales enablement tools
  • Dealer management systems
