Windows Scripting/Automation Engineer
Atlanta, GA – hybrid up to 4 days onsite
3+ years – potential for perm conversion
$50-60/hr W2 based on experience
Main priority is to bring someone on with Scripting/automation experience with Windows experience behind that.
This position is responsible for engineering, implementing, and supporting Windows server platforms with an emphasis on scripting and automation. Knowledge of Windows operating systems and related system software such as Active Directory, OSD, DFS, Microsoft Clustering, Hyper-V, and VMware will be a strong plus. This is a 7x24x365 support organization and some after-hours work is required.
- Automating installation, maintenance, and lifecycle replacement of Windows server operating systems.
- Developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components
- Performing installation, maintenance, and support of system software/hardware and user support
- Configuring, debugging, and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms
- Performing high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures
- Create workflows using Orchestration tools like Ansible or similar.
- Review existing scripts and collaborate across multiple teams to reduce manual efforts in the workflow
- Design, develop, and maintain scripts using languages like Python, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell to integrate tasks into accounting and inventory systems and our CMDB
- Document scripts, processes, and solutions for knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Provide second-level support to other areas both within and outside of IT.
- Follow standard processes for hardware, software and project completion, problem resolution and change management.
- Diagnose and resolve problems to meet service level expectations.
- Participate in departmental initiatives.
- Communicate progress, problems, and best practices to management, leads and teammates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications - BS/BA in Computer Science or MIS is desired or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components
- Experience in performing installation, maintenance, and support of system software/hardware
- Skills in configuring, debugging, and supporting infrastructure platforms
- Ability to perform high-level root-cause analysis and create preventive measures
- Experience with relevant scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Strong experience and knowledge of Windows server operating systems
- Solid foundational knowledge of Hyper V and VMware environments
- Basic knowledge of compliance and security policies
- Ability to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Operating Systems on virtual and physical platforms.
The compensation range for this position is $50 to $60/hr W2
(dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
