Social Content Specialist – UGC & Creator Content

Location: Greater Chicago, IL or Greater New York City Metro (Primarily Remote/Hybrid)
Employment Type: 12-Month W2 Contract
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: Up to $27/hour W2
Travel: Occasional onsite meetings and travel (up to 25%, anticipated to be significantly less)

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a creative, social-savvy Social Content Specialist to support the social media presence of nationally recognized consumer brands.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who lives and breathes social media, understands what makes content perform on TikTok and Instagram, and loves creating authentic, engaging, platform-native content.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with user-generated content (UGC), influencer/creator collaborations, short-form video editing, and social-first storytelling. We’re looking for someone who knows how to create content that feels organic and relatable rather than overly polished or traditionally corporate.

You’ll collaborate with internal marketing teams, creative partners, and agencies to develop engaging content that builds brand awareness, drives engagement, and connects with consumers.

This is a hands-on content creation role, not primarily a social media strategy or account management position.

What You’ll Do

Social Content Creation (90%)

  • Create engaging, trend-driven content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and other social platforms.

  • Develop and edit short-form videos, UGC-style content, static graphics, and social creative assets.

  • Produce authentic, platform-native content that resonates with audiences and reflects current social trends.

  • Collaborate with influencers, content creators, internal marketing teams, and agency partners to bring creative concepts to life.

  • Contribute to creative briefs, creator briefs, social content toolkits, and campaign assets.

  • Edit and adapt creator-generated content to align with brand guidelines while maintaining an organic, relatable feel.

  • Stay current on emerging social media trends, platform updates, viral formats, and creative best practices.

  • Support content development from initial concept through final execution.

  • Use engagement metrics and content performance insights to inform creative decisions and improve future content.

Community Engagement (10%)

  • Support community management across brand-owned social media channels.

  • Monitor comments, messages, and audience interactions while maintaining a consistent brand voice.

  • Identify emerging trends, consumer feedback, and engagement opportunities.

  • Assist with social listening and flag relevant issues to internal stakeholders.

  • Utilize social media management platforms such as Sprinklr.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in social media content creation, digital content production, or a related creative role.

  • Hands-on experience creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other social platforms.

  • Experience with UGC, creator-driven content, influencer collaborations, or social-first brand campaigns.

  • Strong short-form video editing and graphic design capabilities.

  • Proficiency with creative tools such as CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Premiere Pro, or similar platforms.

  • Understanding of platform-specific content trends, audience engagement, and social media best practices.

  • Ability to develop authentic, engaging content that feels native to social platforms.

  • Strong creative storytelling, copywriting, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple creative projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Portfolio demonstrating recent social content creation, including short-form video and/or UGC-style work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating content for consumer brands, CPG, retail, beauty, lifestyle, or personal care brands.

  • Experience developing creative briefs or collaborating directly with influencers and UGC creators.

  • Demonstrated success driving engagement, views, audience growth, or other measurable social performance outcomes.

  • Experience with social media management platforms such as Sprinklr.

  • Community management or social listening experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Location & Work Arrangement

This position is primarily remote, with a preference for candidates located in the Greater Chicago or Greater New York City metropolitan areas.

Candidates elsewhere on the East Coast may also be considered.

Occasional onsite meetings, content capture, team collaboration, or event-related travel may be required. Travel could be up to 25%, although the anticipated frequency is closer to once per quarter.

Some evening or weekend availability may occasionally be needed to support content initiatives or community engagement.

Portfolio Requirement

A portfolio or examples of recent social media content are required for consideration.

We’re especially interested in seeing:

  • TikTok videos and Instagram Reels you’ve personally created or edited.

  • Authentic, lo-fi, UGC-style content developed for brands.

  • Examples of influencer or creator collaborations.

  • Short-form videos demonstrating strong social-first editing and storytelling.

  • Content with measurable engagement or performance results, when available.

Please include your portfolio link near the top of your resume, directly beneath your name and location.

Why This Opportunity?

This role offers the opportunity to contribute creative ideas and produce engaging social content for well-known consumer brands within a collaborative marketing environment.

If you’re passionate about social trends, enjoy working with creators, and love bringing fresh, authentic content to life, we’d love to hear from you!
