TITLE: Lead Hardware Engineer
LOCATION: Alpharetta, Ga.
ANTICIPATED DURATION: Direct Hire
Lead Hardware Engineer Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic technical leadership and mentorship to the Hardware Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Oversee the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring alignment with stringent performance and environmental standards.
- Lead the design, analysis, and validation of digital, analog, and power electronic systems for ruggedized platforms.
- Ensure designs meet military and industry standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160, along with customer-specific requirements.
- Drive design for manufacturability, assembly, and testability to optimize product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Software, Systems, and Test Engineering teams to develop integrated, reliable solutions.
- Lead technical reviews, validation activities, and documentation to uphold rigorous quality benchmarks.
- Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of high-performance products.
- Serve as the senior technical authority during proposal development and customer engagements, representing Argon's hardware capabilities.
- Promote continuous improvement, professional growth, and high standards within the engineering team.
Lead Hardware Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in electronic hardware design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Strong expertise in high-speed digital design, power electronics, and embedded hardware development.
- In-depth knowledge of ruggedization techniques, EMI/EMC mitigation, thermal management, and environmental testing standards.
- Proficiency with ECAD tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with military and aerospace standards including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160.
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects through the NPI process.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful immigration status, with ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
Lead Hardware Engineer Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Over 10 years of industry experience in high-reliability hardware development for defense or aerospace sectors.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to travel as needed for project coordination and customer meetings.
- Possess or be able to obtain necessary security clearances.
The compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $155,000
(dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
