Relay & Controls Designer
TITLE: Relay & Controls Designer
LOCATION: Atlanta Metro, GA
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 6 months + extensions
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering functions requiring the basic electrical design of distribution and transmission substations.
- Develop detailed electrical designs of high voltage substations, including new and modified installations.
- Create design packages such as one-line or single-line diagrams, breaker and transformer connection diagrams, panel fabrication drawings, wiring and cable lists, bill of materials, metering, and SCADA drawings.
- Apply engineering standards, guidelines, and procedures in design tasks.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Protection & Control applications.
- Electric power utility experience in substation design at voltage levels 46 kV and higher.
- General knowledge of protective relaying and relaying applications.
- Ability to interpret single-line, three-line, and elementary wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with major equipment drawings and panel wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Vault File Management system.
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-4 years of experience with an electric power utility in substation Protection and Control design.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in relay setting applications and/or relay testing.
- PE License.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $35.00 to $50.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
