Senior DevOps Engineer
TITLE: DevOps Engineer
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA Hybrid
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 3 month contract to hire
Responsibilities:
- Support the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of CI/CD automation frameworks across multiple tools and platforms.
- Administer, support, and improve Azure DevOps and GitHub platforms, managing repositories, branching strategies, permissions, policies, and access controls.
- Build, support, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure delivery.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate operational tasks, platform administration, reporting, and deployment activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, pipeline failures, integration problems, and user access concerns.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement DevOps best practices, source control standards, and release automation.
- Support integrations between Azure DevOps, GitHub, cloud platforms, security tools, and enterprise systems.
- Monitor platform health, usage, and performance; recommend and implement improvements.
- Ensure platform configurations and processes align with security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and user guidance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Azure DevOps and GitHub capabilities, features, and administration.
- Independently manage assigned work, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality solutions with minimal oversight.
- Lead automation framework initiatives to refine build and deploy processes.
- Assist development teams across the organization to implement CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects on DevOps tool chain decisions.
- Explain and promote DevOps culture, automation, lean, measurement, and shared practices internally and with business partners.
- Work with container tools such as AKS and OpenShift.
- Follow engineering best practices, participate in tool evaluations, and peer reviews.
- Architect solutions to support customer-facing products with emphasis on stability, scalability, security, testability, and maintainability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
- At least 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- 5+ years of DevOps experience in application delivery and deployment automation.
- Experience with automation of continuous deployment and service failover.
- Knowledge of applying agile methodologies in an enterprise environment, including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile.
- Good understanding of Azure (including ARM and Bicep Templates, Resource Groups, secure networking, and vaults).
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with container tools such as AKS and OpenShift.
- Knowledge of architecting solutions for stability, scalability, security, and maintainability of customer-facing products.
- Strong automation, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow through to completion.
- Experience explaining and persuading DevOps culture and practices within teams and partners.
- Knowledge of SCM, PO, Coaching, and good coding practices.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50.00 to $75.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
