Responsibilities:
- Deliver medium sized projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Share knowledge related to building solutions and tools to configure, maintain, and scale systems and services.
- Produce initial project designs and contribute to larger designs, then execute those designs.
- Recognize issues in a large service area, plan and execute solutions, and triage escalated issues.
- Maintain standards of the team towards production excellence.
- Assist in defining and promoting standards for production excellence and operational improvements.
- Advocate for best practices and SRE solutions for systems design and management.
- Set up or improve test, monitoring, or infrastructure to ensure system scalability and reliability.
- Contribute to documentation and educational content, keeping it updated.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve issues impacting hardware, network, or service operations.
- Identify and contribute to remediation and preventative work.
- Write and improve code focused on reliability, resilience, scalability, and reducing toil.
- Develop interfaces between system components, possibly spanning team or RPC boundaries.
- Review and provide feedback on code developed by others to ensure best practices.
- Test non-standard scenarios, validate resilience, and write test case descriptions.
- Review technical designs emphasizing reliability, efficiency, simplicity, and maintainability.
- Design solutions to support the team’s needs, especially in response to reliability and incident management.
- Understand constraints, identify solutions, and defend technical designs.
Requirements:
- 6 years experience in SRE Code Comprehension (Knowledge) and Architecture reliability.
- Knowledge of architectural patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proficiency in the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with systems thinking, programming, code health, and tools (IC).
- Skills in reliability debugging, bug-fixing, data analysis, and synthesis.
- Ability to simplify complex problems and perform risk analysis and management.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $84.17 to $100.26 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
