Senior UX Researcher
Atlanta, GA (hybrid-remote in Smyrna/Vinings area – 3 days onsite per week – must be local to ATL at this time)
6-month W2 contract with extension or conversion
The Senior UX Researcher plays an integral role in the strategy, conceptualization, and design of our client's user experience. The purpose of the position is to understand users’ needs, behaviors, experiences, and motivations to influence the design of products and services. The Senior UX Researcher ensures that user-centered design principles are applied to provide the most intuitive, functional, and valuable user experiences across all touchpoints.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of user research programs that provide actionable insights, keeping both user needs and business objectives in mind.
- Plan, conduct, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative user research, including usability testing, contextual inquiries, surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis.
- Work closely with Product/UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers to transform research data into innovative design solutions.
- Develop and maintain personas, journey maps, behaviors, and workflow analyses.
- Foster a culture of test and learn, establishing best practices and methodologies for user research.
- Communicate research findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and impactful way.
- Advocate for the user throughout the product development process, ensuring that user needs are considered at every stage.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX Research, preferably in a senior role.
- Proven experience in conducting user research activities such as usability testing, user interviews, surveys, persona development, and journey mapping.
- Proficient in using UX research tools and software.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate user needs, pain points and behaviors in a compelling and effective way.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrable experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables is a must.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experience working in design for ecommerce, retail and/or supply chain.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams is preferred.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $70.00-80.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
