About the role
We're looking for a Conversational Designer who sits at the intersection of conversation design and front-end development. You'll work alongside an established conversational design team, with your focus centered on the technical build side of conversational experiences — IVR systems, chatbots, and virtual assistants. This is a hands-on, implementation-heavy role for someone who understands how great conversational experiences are designed and built end-to-end.
What you'll do
Design, build, and implement conversational flows for IVR and chatbot platforms
Partner closely with the conversational design team to bring designs to life on the front-end
Translate conversational design intent into functional, user-friendly implementations
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and QA to ensure quality and consistency across conversational touchpoints
Test, iterate, and optimize conversational experiences based on user behavior and performance data
Required skills
Hands-on experience designing and building IVR systems and chatbot or virtual assistant experiences
Front-end development skills with the ability to implement conversational flows at a technical level
Solid understanding of conversational design principles — dialogue flows, intent mapping, error handling, and user prompting
Ability to work collaboratively within a team of conversational designers in a fast-paced enterprise environment
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to have
Experience with conversational AI platforms (e.g. Google CCAI, Amazon Lex, Nuance, Voiceflow, or similar)
Background in enterprise or regulated industry environments (insurance, financial services, healthcare)
Familiarity with NLP/NLU concepts and how they inform conversational flow design
Experience with voice UX, speech recognition, or text-to-speech systems
Other requirements
Atlanta-based candidates strongly preferred; remote candidates must be in EST or CST time zones
Comfortable working within a larger design team with defined processes and workflows
The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $50.00 to $70.00/hr. Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
