UX Content Spec/Strategist
Content Experience Designer (W2 Contract)
Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite) in one of the following hubs:
Minneapolis/St. Paul, San Francisco Bay Area, Atlanta, New York City, Irving (Dallas/Fort Worth), Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati
Duration: Contract through September 2026 (likely extensions)
Pay Rate: Up to $63.45/hr (W2)
About the Role
We’re hiring a Content Experience Designer to support a large-scale digital product team focused on improving transactional user experiences. This role blends UX writing and content strategy, with a strong emphasis on delivering clear, intuitive, and compliant content across complex user journeys.
You’ll work closely with experience designers, product partners, and legal/compliance teams to refine existing flows and ensure content is consistent, user-friendly, and aligned across the broader ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Experience Designers to review and refine user flows for transactional experiences
- Write UX copy and microcopy that improves clarity, usability, and trust
- Develop and apply content strategy aligned to user needs, business goals, and regulatory considerations
- Ensure all new content aligns with existing systems, voice & tone, and design standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders
- Participate in frequent working sessions to iterate on content and experiences
- Balance hands-on writing with strategic content thinking
- Advocate for strong UX by pushing back on content or flows that don’t align with best practices
- Work directly in Figma to review and contribute to design artifacts
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in content design, content strategy, or related field
- 7+ years of UX writing experience across digital products
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end content thinking and execution (portfolio required)
- Proven ability to balance strategy and execution (UX writing + content strategy)
- Experience working in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to challenge decisions when needed
- Ability to simplify complex or regulated content into clear, user-friendly language
- Experience working within design systems and maintaining content consistency
- Proficiency in Figma (preferred)
Nice to Have
- Experience working on transactional or workflow-driven products
- Background in regulated or compliance-heavy environments
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise platforms
Team & Environment
- Hiring Manager: Content Design Manager (Interfaces-focused team)
- Focused on improving transactional flows and user journeys
- Highly collaborative with frequent interaction across Product, Design, and Legal/Compliance
- Work includes a mix of heads-down writing and high-volume stakeholder collaboration
- Emphasis on evolving and improving existing flows and content systems

The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $50.00 to $63.45/hr.
