TITLE: Technical Operations Program Manager
LOCATION: Onsite in Austin Texas
ANTICIPATED DURATION: 8 months
Responsibilities:
- Build and run standardized intake and prioritization for cloud resource requests (services, projects, access, networking, environments).
- Drive implementation of automation-first workflows, including AI-led/self-service interfaces to streamline infrastructure requests and reduce manual operational overhead.
- Partner with platform engineering to define repeatable patterns (e.g., golden paths, templates) that improve scalability and reliability.
Cost Optimization & Monitoring (FinOps)
- Establish mechanisms for near real-time cost visibility and reporting for GCP spend.
- Partner with engineering teams to run service utilization audits, identify waste, and execute optimization initiatives that produce measurable compute budget savings.
- Support AI-driven or automated anomaly detection and cost guardrails (alerts, policies, showback/chargeback inputs).
Security, Risk, and Compliance
- Program-manage vulnerability mitigation efforts and operating rhythms aligned to target outcomes (e.g., 95% SLO compliance for remediation).
- Coordinate implementation and adoption of zero-trust access controls for sensitive data and platform services.
- Drive modernization efforts including decommissioning end-of-life legacy applications, reducing risk and simplifying the platform footprint.
- Maintain stakeholder alignment across Security, Infrastructure, App Eng, and Compliance.
Program Leadership & Delivery
- Own program plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and executive-ready status reporting.
- Facilitate cross-team decision-making, escalate blockers, and ensure sustained execution.
- Define success metrics (OKRs/KPIs), and build durable runbooks and governance to keep programs healthy post-launch.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager (or similar) leading complex, cross-functional technical initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience working with cloud infrastructure programs, ideally within GCP environments.
- Strong technical fluency across cloud concepts (IAM/access, networking, compute, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, SDLC, observability).
- Proven ability to build scalable intake processes, governance, and operating cadences that work across many teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior technical leaders.
