Principal UX Designer/UX Strategist
Atlanta, GA (5 days onsite)
5+month W2 contract (Possibility to convert. Full medical, dental & vision benefits offered)
We’re looking for a Principal UX Strategist to lead experience strategy for high-impact retail and eCommerce journeys, including checkout, payments, credit enrollment, loyalty, and customer acquisition experiences.
This role is ideal for a strategic UX leader who can influence product direction, advocate for customers, and drive measurable business outcomes across complex digital ecosystems. Operating within a shared-services studio model, you’ll partner with multiple internal clients and help shape experiences across web, mobile, and in-store channels.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead UX strategy for large-scale retail, eCommerce, payments, and enrollment initiatives.
- Drive end-to-end customer experiences across digital, mobile, and in-store touchpoints.
- Translate customer needs, business goals, and data insights into actionable experience strategies.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, design thinking sessions, and stakeholder alignment efforts.
- Partner with UX Research and Design teams to develop, validate, and refine solutions.
- Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities and influence product decisions.
- Create and test concepts through rapid prototyping using Figma, Claude, and AI-powered design tools.
- Influence product roadmaps and help define Minimum Lovable Products (MLPs).
- Present and defend recommendations with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Serve as a UX thought leader, helping elevate design practices across the organization.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of UX Strategy, Product Design, Service Design, or related experience.
- Proven success leading UX strategy for complex customer-facing products and programs.
- Strong experience in retail, eCommerce, checkout, payments, loyalty, credit, or enrollment experiences.
- Expertise in user-centered design, design thinking, information architecture, and service design.
- Experience connecting omnichannel experiences across digital, mobile, and in-store environments.
- Strong facilitation, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to influence within highly matrixed organizations and align diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience using research, analytics, and customer insights to drive strategic decisions.
- Deep understanding of agile product development and modern product organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with self-checkout, Scan & Go, payments, financing, credit enrollment, rewards, or loyalty programs.
- Background with major retailers or digital commerce organizations such as Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot, or similar brands.
- Experience within financial services, credit, or customer acquisition journeys, including prior Citi experience.
- Expertise using AI-enabled prototyping tools, including Claude and Figma Make.
- Experience working in a consulting, agency, or shared-services model supporting multiple stakeholders.
Success in This Role
Successful candidates combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution. They can navigate ambiguity, influence senior leaders, and create compelling experiences that connect eCommerce, mobile, and in-store journeys. They are comfortable challenging assumptions, defending customer needs, and pushing the organization toward best-in-class retail experiences.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $72 to $78 per hour (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
