Staff / Principal UX Service Designer – Pricing

Location: Atlanta, GA (Preferred) | Remote Considered
Employment Type: Long-Term W2 Contract
Duration: Funded Through 2027
Level: Staff UX Designer / Service Designer (Principal-level candidates considered)

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Staff / Principal UX Service Designer to support a major Fortune 50 retailer’s Pro Pricing experience. This is an opportunity to work on complex, enterprise-level experiences that support professional customers and the associates who serve them.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of service design, UX research, and hands-on product/visual design, with the ability to translate strategic insights and existing customer journeys into intuitive, actionable, and testable digital experiences.

This role is particularly well suited for someone who enjoys connecting the dots across people, processes, and technology but is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves in Figma to bring concepts to life.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate existing current-state journey maps, service blueprints, and research insights into tangible UX concepts, workflows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.

  • Design intuitive experiences supporting complex Pro Pricing, quoting, sales, and associate-facing workflows.

  • Conduct concept validation, usability testing, and feedback sessions with associates to evaluate solutions and inform design iterations.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify complex business processes, reduce friction, and improve the overall associate and customer experience.

  • Apply service design methodologies to connect end-to-end journeys across digital touchpoints, operational processes, and business systems.

  • Create high-quality visual designs and interactive prototypes in Figma, leveraging established design systems and patterns.

  • Partner closely with Product Management, UX Research, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate customer and business needs into practical design solutions.

  • Synthesize research findings, communicate design recommendations, and influence product direction through clear storytelling and evidence-based decisions.

  • Balance strategic, long-term experience improvements with tactical design execution and near-term delivery.

  • Independently drive design initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in UX Design, Product Design, Service Design, or Experience Design, ideally operating at a Staff, Lead, or Principal level.

  • Strong foundation in service design, including customer journey mapping, service blueprinting, workflow analysis, and future-state experience design.

  • Demonstrated ability to take research and journey insights through concept development, prototyping, validation, and detailed UI design.

  • Hands-on expertise with Figma, including wireframing, high-fidelity visual design, interactive prototyping, and design systems.

  • Experience conducting or directly supporting UX research, usability testing, concept testing, and iterative design validation.

  • Experience designing complex enterprise applications, internal tools, B2B platforms, or operational workflows.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, understand interconnected systems, and translate complex business requirements into intuitive user experiences.

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Portfolio demonstrating both strategic service design thinking and polished, hands-on UX/UI execution.

Highly Preferred Experience

  • Experience designing pricing tools, quoting platforms, CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) solutions, or price management systems.

  • Exposure to B2B commerce, contract pricing, negotiated pricing, volume discounts, sales enablement, or quote-to-cash workflows.

  • Experience designing associate-facing tools, internal enterprise platforms, or complex transactional experiences.

  • Background in retail, wholesale distribution, home improvement, manufacturing, or other industries with complex pricing and operational processes.

  • Experience working across the full design lifecycle, from discovery and journey mapping through visual design, validation, and implementation.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Meaningful impact: Help shape the experience supporting complex Pro Pricing and associate workflows for a major national retailer.

  • End-to-end ownership: Connect service design strategy with hands-on design and real-world user validation.

  • Long-term stability: Contract funding is secured through 2027.

  • Location flexibility: Remote candidates are welcome, with Atlanta-based talent preferred.

  • Potential career growth: Atlanta-based contractors may have an opportunity to transition into a permanent role in approximately 6–12+ months, depending on business needs and performance.

What Success Looks Like

In the near term, you’ll quickly immerse yourself in existing journey work, identify meaningful design opportunities, and translate those insights into compelling concepts that can be tested and refined with associates.

Over time, you’ll serve as a well-rounded design partner, bringing together research, service design, and visual design to improve complex experiences and help shape the future of Pro Pricing.

If you’re a strategic service designer who loves getting hands-on with UX/UI design—and enjoys simplifying complex enterprise workflows—we’d love to connect.
