Product Manager
Product Manager – Customer Data Management
Location: Atlanta, GA – Onsite
Engagement: W2 Contract with potential for future conversion consideration
Practice Area: Product Management
Position Overview
Genuine Parts Company is seeking an experienced Product Manager – Customer Data Management to join its growing Product organization.
This role will focus on the products, platforms, and processes responsible for creating, managing, cleansing, enriching, deduplicating, and governing customer data across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate is a strong business-oriented Product Manager with technical fluency and a data-driven mindset. This person should understand the customer and business problem first, translate those needs into product requirements, and partner closely with Engineering and Data teams to determine the right solution.
This is not a traditional Technical Product Manager or engineering-focused Product Owner role. We are looking for someone who brings strong product judgment, customer understanding, data analysis skills, and enough technical depth to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and make informed product decisions.
What You'll Do
- Own the product strategy, roadmap, requirements, and priorities for customer data management products and capabilities.
- Define business and customer requirements and translate them into clear functional product requirements.
- Partner with Engineering, Data, Architecture, Business, and other Product teams to deliver scalable customer-data solutions.
- Support capabilities related to customer data creation, cleansing, enrichment, deduplication, identity, governance, and quality.
- Analyze data independently to uncover quality issues, customer trends, gaps, and product opportunities.
- Use data to validate assumptions, prioritize product investments, and measure outcomes.
- Understand how customer data moves across enterprise systems and how upstream and downstream dependencies affect the customer experience.
- Partner with adjacent product areas such as catalog, CRM, search and discovery, commerce, and AI/ML-driven products.
- Balance customer needs, business objectives, data quality, and technical considerations when making product decisions.
- Lead products through discovery, prioritization, delivery, launch, and ongoing optimization.
Required Experience
- 5–10+ years of Product Management experience, ideally within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong experience owning data-centric products, platforms, or capabilities.
- Demonstrated ownership of customer-facing, customer-data, catalog, or related enterprise products.
- Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle, including discovery, strategy, roadmapping, prioritization, delivery, and measurement.
- Experience translating business and customer needs into functional product requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently investigate and interpret data.
- SQL proficiency and comfort using data to validate assumptions and guide product decisions.
- Experience partnering closely with Engineering and Data teams while allowing technical teams to own implementation decisions.
- Understanding of enterprise systems, integrations, data dependencies, and data quality.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across business and technology organizations.
Highly Relevant Backgrounds
Experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Customer Data Management (CDM)
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Product Information Management (PIM)
- Catalog Management
- Customer Identity and Customer Profile Platforms
- Customer Onboarding
- Data Governance
- Data Quality and Data Enrichment
- CRM / Salesforce ecosystems
- Search and Discovery platforms
- Enterprise e-commerce or customer-facing digital products
Technical Expectations
The successful candidate should be technically fluent enough to understand complex data products, investigate issues, work with SQL, evaluate dependencies, and have informed conversations with Engineering and Data partners.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a Product Manager who leads with:
- Product Management expertise and ownership
- Business and customer understanding
- Data-driven decision making
- Technical fluency
The strongest candidates will be comfortable operating at the intersection of customer experience, enterprise data, and technology while remaining focused on the business problem and product outcome.
