UX Designer – Cards & Servicing Experiences

📍 Hybrid, Minneapolis, MN
💼 W2 Contract | Long-Term Engagement

About the Role

We’re looking for a mid-to-senior level UX Designer to support a highly collaborative product team focused on digital card servicing experiences across:

  • Online banking (web)
  • Native mobile applications (iOS & Android)

This role is ideal for a systems-minded product designer who thrives in structured Agile environments and enjoys solving real customer problems within complex, customer-facing platforms.

The team works on servicing experiences related to:

  • Card management
  • Account servicing
  • Authorized users
  • Payment-related functionality
  • Mobile and web banking workflows

This is an iterative product environment — not a greenfield innovation role — so success comes from strong problem solving, collaboration, and disciplined execution within existing systems and patterns.

What You’ll Do

  • Design end-to-end servicing experiences across web and mobile platforms
  • Lead UX work from:
    • Discovery
    • Concepting
    • Design
    • Review
    • Developer handoff
  • Collaborate closely with:
    • Product managers
    • Engineers
    • Accessibility consultants
    • Business stakeholders
    • Other design teams
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including:
    • Sprint planning
    • Release planning
    • Standups
    • Design reviews
  • Create and maintain highly organized Figma files and documentation
  • Write and manage design stories and subtasks in Jira
  • Design within established design systems and reusable platform patterns
  • Contribute to accessibility-conscious product experiences

What We’re Looking For

Strong Product UX & Discovery Skills

  • Ability to clarify problems before designing solutions
  • Experience participating in or facilitating discovery sessions
  • Strong design rationale and problem-solving mindset

Advanced Figma & Design Systems Experience

  • Highly organized Figma workflows
  • Strong component and pattern usage
  • Experience working within scalable design systems
  • Ability to create collaboration-ready files for cross-functional teams

Agile Product Delivery Experience

  • Experience embedded within scrum teams
  • Comfortable working within sprint timelines and release cycles
  • Jira experience strongly preferred

Accessibility Experience

  • Experience designing with accessibility in mind from the start
  • Comfortable partnering with accessibility stakeholders and reviews

Collaboration & Communication

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Comfortable aligning with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly explain design decisions and tradeoffs

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of UX/Product Design experience
  • Strong Figma and design systems experience
  • Agile/scrum experience
  • Jira experience
  • Discovery and problem-framing experience
  • Accessibility experience
  • Experience working within structured, cross-functional product environments

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Banking, fintech, or regulated industry experience
  • Account servicing or management platform experience
  • White-label or multi-brand platform experience
  • Enterprise SaaS or operational workflow experience

What Success Looks Like

The strongest candidates are:

  • Systems-minded product designers
  • Strong collaborators within Agile environments
  • Organized and disciplined in Figma
  • Comfortable working within existing constraints and platforms
  • Focused on solving the right problem before jumping into UI execution

Portfolio Expectations

Candidates should be prepared to discuss:

  • Their problem-solving process
  • Discovery and collaboration approach
  • Design rationale and tradeoffs
  • How they worked within constraints
  • How they partnered with product and engineering teams

The team values thoughtful product thinking and structured UX process just as much as polished UI.
