UX Designer

Title: UX Designer (Payments / Digital Wallet)
Location: Mountain View, CA — Hybrid (in office Tues–Thurs; remote Mon & Fri)
Schedule: Mon–Fri, standard business hours (PST)
Duration: 09/22/2026 – 07/22/2027 (W2 contract)

Overview

We’re looking for a UX Designer to help design and ship high-quality experiences across payments and digital wallet surfaces. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Content to turn complex transaction flows into clear, intuitive, and trustworthy experiences—covering areas such as checkout, onboarding, funding flows, P2P, card management, rewards, transaction history, disputes, and fraud-related UX.

Responsibilities

• Production-ready design & prototyping: Deliver detailed specs, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that align to (and extend) established design systems.
• End-to-end payments UX: Design key wallet/payment journeys with attention to clarity, trust, compliance, edge cases, and error states.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with UX, PM, Engineering, Research, Content Strategy, Data Science, and Marketing to drive alignment and get work into production.
• Data & insights integration: Use research findings, metrics, and market patterns to iterate and deliver scalable solutions that solve real user pain points.
• Communication & storytelling: Present concepts and rationale clearly to stakeholders across levels; incorporate feedback while protecting UX quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of interaction/product design experience (UX/Product Design).
• Strong proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools.
• Portfolio (website or link) demonstrating end-to-end UX work and shipped outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Payments, fintech, or digital wallet experience (or closely related transactional products).
• Experience designing complex flows with multiple stakeholders and constraints (security, compliance, risk, latency, localization).
• Strong visual design skills.
• Expertise in component/system design and scalable UX patterns.
• Excellent collaboration and presentation skills.

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $90 to $114.09 per hour (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
