TITLE: Applicaiton Developer Security Manager
LOCATION: Atlanta, Ga. OR Birmingham, Al.
ANTICIPATED DURATION: Direct Hire

Our client is seeking a highly strategic and technically skilled Application-Developer Security Manager to lead enterprise-wide application development efforts. This pivotal role is responsible for managing development standards, overseeing reusable application components, supporting secure Identity and Access Management (IAM/CIAM) systems, and providing solution architecture consultation. The ideal candidate will ensure secure, efficient, and future-ready application development while aligning closely with business objectives.

Application-Developer Security  Manager Responsibilities:

Enterprise Development Standards & Governance

  • Lead the creation, communication, and enforcement of application development standards across web, mobile, batch, RPA, and hybrid platforms.

  • Ensure security, scalability, and compliance through rigorous governance frameworks and measurable standards.

  • Act as a technology evangelist, promoting best practices and reducing SDLC friction across teams.

Reusable Component Development & Support

  • Design and implement reusable enterprise services and frameworks to enhance development efficiency and performance.

  • Lead efforts in configuration management, monitoring tools, and secure development practices.

IAM/CIAM Leadership

  • Oversee design, development, and support of application-level IAM and CIAM solutions, including enterprise SSO, Active Directory integration, and encryption standards.

  • Collaborate with enterprise security teams to enforce robust security architecture and application access policies.

Application Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

  • Manage a sub-team skilled in advanced diagnostics (memory dumps, network tracing, code analysis) to address critical production issues efficiently.

Technology Innovation & Adoption

  • Evaluate, introduce, and scale new development tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance application delivery.

  • Partner with stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps for development practices and tools.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Contribute to enterprise IT strategies that align with current and future business needs.

  • Develop and execute long-range plans to optimize application development capabilities.

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Own and manage departmental and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility in tool acquisition and service delivery.

  • Lead negotiations with technology vendors and ensure performance per contractual commitments.

 Application-Developer Security Manager Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related field is required.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise application development or technical leadership, preferably with Fortune 500 companies.

  • Proven leadership in developing secure, high-performing, and reusable applications and frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience with software development models (Agile, Waterfall) and full SDLC processes.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of modern application architectures, microservices, CI/CD, and development platforms.

  • Experience with IAM/CIAM platforms, encryption tools, SSO, and identity governance.

  • Proficiency in application diagnostic tools and techniques.

  • Familiarity with application development in hybrid cloud environments (on-prem/cloud).

  • Strategic thinker with a strong sense of business acumen and customer-centric mindset.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence change, lead cross-functional teams, and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • High level of initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities.

Application-Developer Security Manager Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience with Azure, RPA technologies, and secure development tools (e.g., static application security testing).

  • Exposure to regulatory compliance and audit processes in enterprise environments.

 

The compensation range for this position is dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location.
