Senior Drupal Architect / Developer (Contract)
Contract – through January 2027 (with a strong potential to extend or convert) 
Location:    Fully Remote – Anywhere USA

Synergis’ client, a global leader in enterprise software solutions for database and systems management, has engaged us in a search for a seasoned Drupal Architect / Developer to take over and lead the next phases of a high-visibility Drupal implementation. This is a complex, multi-phase project supporting the marketing organization, and we’re looking for someone who can quickly assess the current state, collaborate cross-functionally, and deliver scalable, thoughtful Drupal solutions!   

Senior Drupal Architect / Developer | Responsibilities 

• Assess the current Drupal build and collaborate with the outgoing implementation partner to understand the state of Phase 1.
• Lead development and architectural strategy for Phases 2 and 3.
• Own the long-term vision for the Drupal platform at Quest.
• Partner with internal teams (marketing, integrations, branding) to align on business needs and priorities.
• Provide technical oversight, solution design, and hands-on development where needed.
• Manage or advise on vendor performance and implementation quality.
• Advocate for scalable, streamlined solutions—and challenge poor technical decisions when necessary.
• Drive the shift toward dynamic content architecture, aligning with recent strategic direction.
• Contribute to knowledge transfer and support enablement of internal development resources

Senior Drupal Architect / Developer | Requirements

• Extensive experience with Drupal 9/10, including module development, theming, and content architecture.
• Strong understanding of dynamic content in Drupal, such as views, contextual filters, reusable components, and user-personalized experiences.
• Ability to work with both static and dynamic page architectures.
• Solid background in PHP and familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (React is a plus).
• Ability to balance hands-on coding with high-level architectural planning.
• Experience working within complex environments or replacing underperforming vendors.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments

Senior Drupal Architect / Developer | Preferred:

• Experience working in marketing-driven environments or with branding teams.
• Familiarity with decoupled or headless Drupal implementations.
• Exposure to enterprise-level CMS replacement or modernization projects

The hourly rate for this position is $70-100/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). *Note: Disclosure as required by the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (CO), NYC Pay Transparency Law, and sb5761 (WA)
