Job Title: Social Media Digital Designer (Part-Time Contract)
Location: Hybrid – Atlanta, GA or New York, NY (preferred)
Contract Type: W2 Part-Time (20 hours/week guaranteed, potential to scale to full-time)
Schedule: On call 2 days per week onsite (NYC strongly preferred); availability during standard business hours and some weekends if needed

About the Role
Our client, a nationally recognized broadcast media brand, is seeking a seasoned Social Media Digital Designer to join their fast-paced creative team. This is a high-urgency, quick-turnaround role ideal for someone with proven experience designing for large social media brands and platforms like TikTok and Instagram. You'll be responsible for creating engaging, visually compelling assets optimized for social that support daily editorial and marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, thrives under pressure, and can confidently deliver polished design solutions with minimal direction. This position starts as part-time (20 hours/week guaranteed) with the potential to expand to full-time (40 hours/week) based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high-impact visual content tailored for social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

• Translate news and brand priorities into engaging digital graphics with fast turnaround times (often same-day).

• Collaborate with editorial and creative leads to prioritize Gen Z engagement and elevate the brand's visual identity across social.

• Work independently and respond quickly to shifting news cycles and urgent design needs—especially during weather-related events.

• Manage creative execution with minimal direction and contribute to an agile, on-call team environment.

• Utilize Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator daily; motion design/animation skills are strongly preferred.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in digital or graphic design, with a strong emphasis on social media content.

• A standout portfolio demonstrating creative work for high-profile or large social media brands.

• Proven ability to produce polished social graphics quickly and consistently, often with less than 24-hour turnaround.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator; After Effects or similar tools for motion graphics a plus.

• Excellent time management, adaptability, and ability to work in a high-volume, breaking-news-driven environment.

• Comfortable working onsite in NYC (2 days/week preferred) or Atlanta.

• Flexibility for some weekend or off-hours availability during urgent or high-impact events.

Additional Details

• Candidate must be available and responsive during standard working hours (9–5, 7–4, or 10–6 options).

• 2 designated onsite “on-call” days in NYC each week required for New York–based candidates.

The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $30.00 to $45.00/hr.  Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
