TITLE: Lead Full Stack Engineer
LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid) 
ANTICIPATED DURATION:6+ month contract to hire perm

Our client is looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer.  In this role, you will manage the architecture and evolution of solutions for a client base. You will be responsible for leading and teaching a small team of engineers. 

You will provide thought leadership and make significant technological decisions that modernize and maintain their systems and practices. Working alongside a product management team, you will help scope incoming project opportunities, make architecture recommendations, and solve challenges for our clients with the best available technologies. 

Lead Full Stack Engineer Responsibilities:

• Guiding engineers on enterprise technologies and solutions
• Facilitating and leading client project scope discussions with the ability to understand and articulate the business impact of proposed solutions
• Leveraging new and emerging technologies to fulfill project requirements and business objectives
• Mapping project requirements to technical tasks for the engineering team
• Writing and reviewing software code
• Writing client-readable technical architecture documentation 
• Enforcing development best practices with the engineering team – proper code branching, code reviews, unit tests, and environment setup
• Leading all phases of software development including design, development, testing, and support

 
Lead Full Stack Engineer Requirements:

• Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on development experience in React/Next and Node
• Hands-on experience with  REST & GraphQL API integration
• Able to write clear, well structured and optimized Typescript code
• Regularly writes and uses unit test frameworks such as Jest
• Hands-on development experience in AWS and/or GCP Cloud Services; comfortable writing and setting up serverless functions and containerized services
• Familiarity with microservices architectures
• Familiarity with dev tools such as Github, Jira, CFT, Terraform
• DB experience with relational or noSQL such as PostgreSQL, , MySQL, Redshift, MongoDB, Redis
• Familiarity with cloud-based logging, monitoring, and security tools

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $67 to $90 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
